Assam Polytechnic Admission

The official announcement of Polytechnic Admission 2026 for admission to three-year Diploma in Engineering and Technology Courses at State Government Polytechnics of Assam for the 2026–2027 academic year has been released by the State Council for Technical Education (SCTE), Directorate of Technical Education (DTE), Assam. Students' scores on the H.S.L.C. exam or an analogous exam are used to determine admission to State Government Polytechnics, where science and math are required courses.

State Government Polytechnics have 4385 seats available for 26 different diploma programs. Candidates who meet the requirements can register online through May 10, 2026.

 

Eligibility Criteria Admission

Candidates must be both Indian citizens and Assamese permanent residents. When receiving counseling, a Permanent Resident Certificate (PRC) is required. If not, their seat may be canceled at any point while they are studying.

Educational Requirements: The candidate must complete the H.S.L.C. or its equivalent test in a single sitting, with science and math being required subjects (without grace marks in science and math). Candidates also must have passed individually in both Theory and Practical/ Internal Assessment examinations in Mathematics and Science.

The required minimum average percentage in science and math is listed below.

Age Requirement: As of December 31, 2026, candidates must be at least 16 years old. Admission is open to all ages. Candidates must have been born by December 31, 2010, at the latest.

Physical Fitness: A candidate needs to be in good physical and mental health. At the time of admission, candidates must present a fitness certificate from a licensed medical professional (optional).

Registration Fees

Through the online payment link, applicants must pay a one-time, non-refundable application/registration cost of ₹300 (Rupees three hundred), plus any relevant taxes. Only until the payment has been successfully reflected on the portal will the application be considered complete.

At the time of admission, each candidate must provide two recent passport-size photos with their signature and self-attested photocopies of the following original documents for verification.

Counselling Process

The documents that candidates upload will be validated once the registration and application procedure is finished. Only after this verification is finished can the counseling procedure start. For clarification on any submitted information or documents, applicants may receive calls, messages, or emails at the registered cellphone number or email address. In order to avoid having your application rejected, it is imperative that you reply to these communications as soon as possible.

The following is a general description of the counseling process: 

• Seats will be allotted based on eligibility, rank, caste/category, preferences, and availability.
• Candidates must accept the allotted seat through the portal and download the allotment letter.
• Contact the admission coordinator of the allotted institution and report there on the specified date.
• Physical verification of documents will be conducted at the allotted institution.
• The institution will grant or cancel admission as per prescribed norms.
• Candidates must choose either the “freeze” or “upgrade” option and inform the institution accordingly.

For the 2026–2027 academic year, prospective and qualified Assamese citizens may apply online for admission to diploma programs at the following State Government Polytechnics of Assam by following the instructions listed below.

•  Click on the "Online Registration Form" and complete the registration process .

•  In the next stage, click on "Online Registration Form" Link and Login.

•  Fill your all personal and educational details and upload necessary documents.

•  Make payment of registration fee as per your category and submit the form.
